Tranquility

One of the greatest things about living here on the Torreblanca Heights, is not only the amazing view of the sea on one side and the mountain on the other, but the lovely lovely sound of the birds. They sing all day and seem to enjoy coming to have a peek at who is inside the villa - if I sit really quietly, they come right to the door. However, one movement and they're off!
Today is another bright sunshine day.
I've cleaned my house, done some washing and had a swim. Now I'm enjoying the sights and sounds whilst having a much-needed cup of tea.....

Happy Birthday Mark

Today I woke up feeling really really great. It is my eldest son's birthday. He is 38 - I was thinking about how I felt all those years ago. Very scared. Afraid I'd not be a good mother. Afraid I'd never be able to be the parent I hoped I could be? Then gradually one adapts to this new little being in your life, and realise that you can only do your best!
Over the years, Mark has become a good friend and confidant to me and has given us three beautiful  grandchildren. Isabel and twins, Andrew and Patrick.
Happy birthday, Mark - may you have a really really special day!

Making life-changing decisions

Making Life-changing decisions

In January of 2000, my husband, Peter, and I and our four children immigrated to England from South Africa. It was really one of the biggest risks Peter and I and our children had ever taken. We had decided to look on it as a new adventure and meet new challenges. It was. We bought a house in Hampshire, and over the years have witnessed our children falling in love, getting married, and having the sweetest and most adorable children! Twins, triplets and singles are amongst our little brood. After acquiring a second house, which we renovated, and changed to our liking, we soon realised we’d have to do something “life-changing” again, in order to sustain us in our old-age. Peter has his own company, but the long hours of driving and uncertainty of work have taken their toll ;so we decided to visit Spain and see what challenge would be waiting for us there!
So, once again, we are relocating - just Peter and I this time; I have cried a river, and swam an ocean of emotion, but deep down I do know that this is going to be the start of yet another adventure!
